Here Now

Here Now

Meditation mobile app design.

[Thesis - UX/UI, Brand Identity]

"This app tracks your all-around well-being and reminds you to being present."

The goal of Here Now is to create a platform and app focused on presence and balance, emphasizing flow and acceptance. It will feature a library of meditations and breathing exercises, and users can log their menstrual cycles and reflections. A personal page will allow users to track meditations, save favorites, and plan their days.

Our aim is to help more people discover the benefits of meditation, making it a personal practice. While everyone is different, breathing and self-reflection are universally beneficial.

Unlike typical meditation apps, Here Now encourages users to enjoy the present and have fun, while also remembering to slow down occasionally.

WORDS OF VALUE

Presence:

Being fully engaged and present can be difficult. Being aware of one's thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations without judging them can be even more difficult. Presence emphasizes experiencing the present moment rather than being distracted by past or future thoughts. Through meditation, you train the ability to be present and become better at seeing the small and beautiful things in life.

Simplicity:

Regardless of previous experience or knowledge, our goal with the app is to make it simple and easy to understand and use. You can download meditations, breathing exercises and music and listen exactly whenever you want and need. The interface is simple and clear so that the user doesn't have to struggle to find what they need. Our content should be easily accessible.

Balance:

We strongly believe in balance in life. A healthy equilibrium between different aspects of life, including work and leisure, activity and rest, as well as a balance between different mental and emotional states. Our ambition isn't to be that meditation app that urges the user to abstain from life's happenings - keep coming home at 5:30am after a crazy night out, or lie on the couch watching reality shows for hours. By taking a relaxing walk in the woods or sitting down and reflecting on the past week, you can achieve complete balance. Meditation should give you something, not feel like a chore.

The design process for Here Now involved understanding users' wants and needs, finding a gap in the market where the app could be positioned, and creating a user-friendly and visually appealing app.

MARKET RESEARCH & COMPETETIVE ANALYSIS.

Calm |. Headspace | Mindfulness | Clue | Reflect

I quickly realized that many meditation apps are quite expensive, requiring monthly or annual subscriptions. Most of these apps are in English, but feedback on the Swedish app Mindfully shows a demand for apps in Swedish. Calm, Mindfulness, and Headspace are well-known meditation apps. Additionally, Clue tracks menstrual cycles, and Reflect supports well-being reflection. These specialized apps revealed a market gap. I saw an opportunity to create an app that combines these functionalities. The app will focus on meditation, reflection, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle monitoring, providing an all-in-one solution to replace multiple apps.

Here Now primarily targets two demographic groups: women aged 25-30 who experience both internal and external stress. One group is well-acquainted with meditation and self-reflection, while the other is curious but inexperienced in these practices. To better understand and address their needs, I have developed two personas, as illustrated here
